'Ah...I had a feeling that he might be here.' You thought to yourself as you arrived at the beach, stopping at where the gravel road met the white sand. Looking up, your eyes first caught glimpse of the distant Wingull flying towards the setting sun, before you noticed the figure sitting down by the water.
With a sad sigh, you pressed forward, ensuring that you didn't step on any Sandyghast by accident. As you got closer, you realized that Guzma was chucking something into the water, before you heard a cry of "Pyuku!!" Now you were a little annoyed.
You knew he was in a bad mood, but why take his anger out on those poor creatures?
But before you could speak and announce your presence, you found your path blocked by his Golisopod. It stared down at you, shaking its head as it moved its arm in a diagonal fashion, indicating that it did not want you to bother its trainer.
"Awh c'mon, Glossy," you pouted slightly. Glossy was your nickname for the Water/Bug-type, which it seemed to take a liking to. "I know why he's upset, but certainly I can help-"
"Goliso..." Golisopod shook its head once more.
"What? It's more than just that??"
It nodded its head in reply, appearing a bit sad as it did so. "Golisopod...Goliso.."
Only few humans understood the Poke-Language, but you were fortunate to be among one of those. What Golisopod was saying was that a lot of things were bothering Guzma at the moment- more things than just the betrayal he felt back at the Aether Foundation-and it was worried but doesn't know how to help its master.
With a sigh, you placed your hand on top of Golisopod's head, rubbing it tenderly. "Well that's where I come in, Glossy. I'm his friend. Whatever got him into a pissy mood...I'll be sure he's back to the cool guy we know he is, pronto, okay?" You gave it a smile of reassurance.
After some hesitance, the Water/Bug-type nodded, nuzzling its head into your palm while uttering a small "Goliso". "Hehe...You're welcome, buddy."
Taking your hand off of its head, Golisopod granted you passage and you started towards Guzma, who was about to throw another Pyukumuku. As he had his arm back, ready to toss it, you could see the poor thing squirming in his hand.
He was surprised to find that his hand was empty when he brought it back forward.
"Now, now. What did those Pyukumuku ever do to you?"
Guzma jumped in surprise, looking behind him to see you there, frowning as you cradled the Water-type in your arms.
"O-Oh damn it, [y/n]!" He exclaimed, face flushed with embarrassment. "Whatcha doing here? Almost scared me straight! How long have you been there behind me for?"
"Long enough to stop you from chucking this poor fella into the vast sea," you replied, sitting down next to him before setting the Pyukumuku down in the sand. It looked up at you, then to Guzma, before it turned and scurried away to Arceus-knows-where.
Hearing a sigh, you looked back at him with a concerned expression. You could see the bags under his eyes were getting worse and.....well he just looked plain sad.
"Guzma..would you talk to me, please? I'm worried and even Glossy is worr-"
"Shouldn't ya be lookin' for Ultra Beasts or something?" He blurted out abruptly and rudely. "Why waste your time with a loser like me?"
Your eyes widened in shock at his words, but you shook your head and kept your resolve. "You know that's not true," you huffed. "You're not a loser. And, second of all, I made the effort to convince Glossy to let me talk to you. So I don't necessarily consider that to be a "waste of time"...or is it?"
Judging from the lack of response, you knew you were right.
"I.....I'm sorry for what I said earlier, sis," Guzma apologized, to your surprise, "I-I didn't mean it like tha-"
"No Guzma," you interrupted, sighing as you glanced at him. "You have every right to be upset. What Lusamine did was....uncool. And before you beat yourself up Imma just say this: you couldn't have known what she was planning. Nothing was your fault."
"I think ya missed the part where I kept getting in your way when you were tryna save the world," he pointed out. "I was too dumb to see what she was plannin' till the very end....and if I had stalled ya anymore-"
"But you didn't." You pointed out, sincerity and seriousness in your tone of voice. "If anything...those battles we had made my Pokemon stronger. And if I didn't have that extra boost, they would have fallen easily to Lusamine's, especially since they had Totem Power. So you were a big help, Guzma, not a hindrance."
The former Team Skull leader blinked in surprise. "Really..?"
"Why would I lie to you?"
".....ahhh...I gotchu. [Y/n] I gotta admit...you can be brutally honest when ya wanna be." Guzma smirked. "But I heard you've never told a lie in your life...and that's one of the many things I respect ya for."
"Oh, was that a compliment~?" You swooned, batting your eyelashes teasingly. "I thought bad boy Guzma didn't give compliments~"
The white-haired male simply shrugged, toying with the Team Skull pendant on his golden necklace. "Well...since Team Skull's pretty much dead now...."
Your eyes widened when you saw him remove the necklace. He then looked back at the sea.
"...I don't have any reputation to keep up anymore."
With the flick of his wrist, the necklace flung towards the ocean, disappearing beneath the waves, never to be seen again. Sighing in content, Guzma placed his elbows on his knees. "Ya know...that was oddly satisfying to do." He glanced back at you, smiling. "And ya know something else? I really needed that talk. So thanks, [y/n]."
You smiled back at him, putting an arm around his shoulder and giving him a one-arm hug. "Anytime, Guzma. No matter what I always got your back."
"Right." He nodded, before putting his arm around you and squeezing you close to him.
After you pulled away, you both sighed in content and stared back at the water.
"Goliso..?"
Looking to your left, you saw Golisopod standing there, tapping its claws together nervously as it looked down at Guzma. You stayed where you were as he rose to his feet and looked at his best Pokemon in the eyes with a blank expression. After a few moments Guzma's face broke into a wide grin as he chuckled and hugged his Golisopod's neck with one arm. "Hah, hah! C'mere, you!!" He laughed, giving the Water/Bug-type a little noggie. It didn't seem to mind, though, knowing that its trainer was happy again.
You smiled as you watch the exchange, happy as well to see that your friend was back to his old self again.

Guzma x Reader: Mima Part 1
“Jeez fuck! You wiped the floor with me! Fuckin' kick ass Pokémon you got there. What’s your name brat?”
Why… Why do they always want to talk?! Talking was such an unnecessary tool. You’d worked around it for years, didn’t need any friends or familiar acquaintances to prattle with. The only friends you needed were your Pokémon, but it seemed that the people of the world were still determined to know you. It had to have been the way you battled, stomping a foot here, slapping a thigh, your Pokémon experts by now at learning your body language. A showy tactic meant to distract people from the
