"Idiot..in this world, it's Dance or Don't Dance...and you clearly have no talent!" Flowey sneered.

You sighed, looking down at your feet. As if that insult wasn't another stab to your already low self-esteem...

"Hey, at least she ain't rooted on the spot unlike you." Looking over your shoulder, you were surprised to see Sans standing there, looking rather grim even with that permanent smile on his face. With his hood up, it made him look even more menacing.

"In fact, I bet [y/n] has more talent in one toe than all of the Monsters here combined," Sans growled, before looking over at you apologetically. "C'mon kid." He put his hand out to you. "We don't have to listen to this weed any longer."

"Okay." With a nod, you grasped his hand and you both teleported to a familiar place: Sans' room. It was nearly empty, granting him plenty of room to practice his breakdancing, a type of dance you admired. 
But you grew up learning and loving [favorite type of dance], but some people often judged and criticized you...and you let it get under your skin, especially with Flowey's idea of "dance or don't dance". You didn't understand, though-you only danced because you loved to, not for some silly competition. Why couldn't people understand that?

"Jeez, kid," the skeleton spoke up, snapping you out of your thoughts, "you shouldn't let that weed talk you down like that.

"Sorry," you muttered, sitting down on the bed.

"What are you sorry for?" Sans raised an eyebrow, putting his hood down. "If anything, Flowey should be sorry...and I won't hesitate to go back and MAKE him feel-"

"It's alright Sans, thank you for stepping up for me." You looked up at him, smiling, though your eyes didn't show any sign of happiness.

"Kid, please.." Sans said, sitting down next to you. "It's not healthy to take all those insults to heart. You know Flowey likes being a jerk to everyone, not just you. "Dance or Don't Dance" is just some stupid philosophy he came up with."

"I know that, but-"

"You've been judged throughout your life, I get that," he cut in, putting his hand on top of yours. "But you shouldn't push away those who are trying to help you. C'mon, [y/n]. Talk to me...what's it gonna take? Should I hit up Mettaton?"

You shrugged. "I don't know honestly..I don't think even he can help me. His words the other day didn't really help so much.."

Sans looked at you, almost shocked. "Damn..you better not tell him that or he's gonna cry. He worked hard on that little speech."

"Okay, okay I won't," you giggled softly, "we need one less sad person in this world, am I right?"

"Yeah," Sans chuckled. 'This means I'm her only hope...' He stopped and hummed a bit, trying to think of a good way that will get your spirits up.

Then he had a brilliant idea.

Grinning widely, he stood up and put his hood over his head. Confused, you watched as he walked over to the boombox on the dresser.

"Words may mean nothing to you.....but I bet music does."

He turned on the boombox and cranked the volume up as a familiar song started to play...your favorite song.

"Care for a dance?" Sans was back in front of you, his hand extended to your once more. Smiling lightly, you took his hand and let him pull you up. He brought you to the middle of the room just as the song began the first verse:

Almost like magic, the song gave you a boost in your self-esteem and soon you found yourself lost in the music. The words did have meaning this time...you did feel better when you are dancing. "Wow, Sans," you said, "where did you learn to dance like this?"

The hooded skeleton shrugged. "Let's just say Paps taught me a thing or two about Tango." He dipped you down and brought you back up, twirling you around as Meghan Trainor began singing the next verse:

A bright smile appeared on your face, as the negative thoughts that once clouded your mind have at last disappeared. Sans mirrored your smile, glad to have his buddy back, as you both danced to your hearts' content for the remainder of the song.

For the first time since you've fallen down into the Underground.. you were legitimately happy and confident about the way you danced.

And it was all thanks to a silly, breakdancing skeleton in a blue hoodie.
