You'll Never Be Lonely|Giratina x Trainer!Reader

You entered a portal leading to the infamous Distortion World on the back of Shaymin, in search of the Legendary Pokemon that was imprisoned here.

Shaymin was in its Sky Form as it soared through the void of dark, swirling clouds, bubbles, and floating rocks. As you looked around, you almost felt like you were in a dream. But you knew, for a fact, that this was no dream.

Finally, Shaymin landed on a massive, floating rock with a patch of dull, green grass on it. "Thanks, Shaymin." You smiled as you stepped off the Gratitude Pokemon. "You sure we'll find him here?"

"Min!" It chirped, turning back into its normal form.

You giggled softly, crouching down to pat its head. "If you say so-"

A sudden, deafening roar cut you off, making you gasp in surprise. Shaymin squeaked and jumped into your arms, shivering slightly. You frowned, standing up while still keeping Shaymin close to you as you saw a large snake-like figure in the distance, black tendrils appearing from its form.

It drew closer and you began to recognize the gold, black, red, and silver color scheme that could only belong to Giratina. When it landed on the platform, it morphed into its Altered Form before glaring down at you intimidatingly, wondering why an inferior human was here in its prison.

But you didn't come here to fight Giratina, but, rather, free it from the Distortion World it was banished to. You see..you sympathized with the Pokemon in the normal world that are...less fortunate, such as Cubone. You had a big heart and wanted to help each and every one of them find a sense of belonging and purpose.

Now that the Regenade Pokemon was right in front of you, waiting for your next move, you were at loss for words.

Suddenly, Shaymin wriggled out of your arms. "Whatcha doing, Shay?" You asked, confused. 

"Min! Min!"

"You have an idea?"

"Min!" Shaymin nodded, landing on the ground, before walking up towards Giratina. You realized that maybe it was going to try to talk to the giant Pokemon, and so you decided to sit down on the ground and wait.

~Shaymin's POV~

"H-Hi, Giratina," I greeted with a smile, despite how nervous I really was. "How a-are you-"

"Why did you come here, Shaymin?" His voice boomed, making me jump slightly. "More importantly...why is that human here?" Giratina demanded, glaring at [y/n].

I frowned. "That "human" is my trainer!"

Giratina's eyes widened, shocked by what I told him. "What?! When did---...it doesn't matter," he sighed, "what's your purpose here?"

"[Y/n] w-wanted to free you from this awful p-place," I explained, "he's/she's always tried to help any Pokemon that may feel sad or lonely. He/She wanted to come here e-even though I told him/her you may get angry..."

For a few moments, Giratina didn't respond. I was starting to get anxious, until he spoke again.

"You know I can't leave this cursed place..not even if I wanted to."

I looked up at him, shocked. "Bu-But why?!"

"My father--Arceus..forbids it," he corrected himself, "if he, Dialga, or even Palkia found out I was free..they will search every corner of the old world to find me. I see the goodness [y/n] is trying to do..but even if I do join his/her team, I'll only destroy everything. I'll only cause him/her misery. I'll only be sent right back here...all alone."

My mouth was parted slightly. I was stunned at his words. How could he think such things?!

"W-Well..do you think, maybe, everyone deserves a second chance?"

Giratina looked down at me, silent, though he seemed to be contemplating my words.

~Back to You~

Several minutes passed, though it seemed like forever, as you watched Shaymin and Giratina talk back and forth. It was driving you crazy hearing "Min" and a couple of grunts and growls repeatedly.

A depressing thought crossed your mind: 'Maybe...I shouldn't be doing this. Giratina may be lonely but....maybe that's just how he wants to be.'

You were able to call Shaymin back and tell it what was on your mind before, to your surprise, the Gratitude Pokemon came running back to you, yipping happily.

"What is it? Giratina...w-w-wants me to catch him??!"

Shaymin nodded, smiling.

Your eyes widened to the size of dish plates as you looked back up at Giratina. It lowered its head, its face become just several feet from yours. At first, it thought you would be intimidated by how close it was to you.

But then you did something that surprised the mighty Legendary.

You put your hand out, touch the smooth gold that adorned its face, gently rubbing it. A wide smile stretched across your face and a small giggle bubbled from your lips as you watched Giratina's eyes widen at your action.

"It's okay, Giratina," you said, "I'll make sure that you'll never be lonely again. And I promise I won't tell Arceus, Dialga, or Palkia. It'll be out little secret." Your voice went to a whisper.

The Regenade Pokemon nodded slowly. Smiling, you lowered your hand before reaching into your bag and pulling out a Dusk Ball-perfect for catching Pokemon in dark places.

"Make a wish.." You said to yourself, steeping back before tossing the ball towards Giratina. It opened and it disappeared inside of it.

Giratina showed little to no resistance as it let you capture it.

"I can't believe we did it, Shaymin!" You grinned, picking up the Dusk Ball. Shaymin yipped with happiness as it transformed into its Sky Form, before crouching down. "Now let's get out of here." You climbed onto its back as Shaymin spread its wings out and took off into the air, flying through the portal back to the normal world just as it closed.

Since that day, you've cared for and trained Giratina well. At first, it was cold and distant, but overtime it grew to become your most powerful ally.

Even the Elite Four were stunned that you were able to easily harness the power of Giratina.

But in reality, what you did to train it...you did out of your love for the once lonely Legendary.
